Sun, 30 December 2007 Sunday, December 30, 2007Message By: Pastor Ken Harvey What can imposing on our neighbor teach us about God and prayer? Apparently, a great deal. Examine a parable told by Jesus in response to a question by one of His disciples and the implications for our prayer lives. You’ll find the answer will affect not only what you ask for, but also your understanding of how and when God answers prayer. Comments[0] |
Wed, 26 December 2007 Sunday, December 23, 2007Message by: Sr. Pastor, Ken Harvey The Christmas story is amazing in and of itself—a virgin would give birth to a child who would save the world from its sins. But it is even more amazing when you realize that the details of this story were predicted hundreds of years before they happened. Examine the proclamation of the prophet Isaiah 735 years before the first Christmas and discover what it means to us today. Comments[0] |
Sun, 16 December 2007 Sunday, December 16, 2007Message By: Sr. Pastor, Ken Harvey We all get weary. At some point in our Christian life we just get tired of being good. After all, it seems like nobody else is, so why should we be? We try to have high moral standards. We do the right thing the right way only to watch others get ahead of us. At some point we all think to ourselves, When is God going to come through? If you've already experienced this, or are experiencing this now, listen to what God had to say to weary people through the prophet Isaiah. Comments[0] |
Sun, 9 December 2007 Sunday, December 9, 2007Message by: Sr. Pastor, Ken Harvey Today we have the opportunity to meet Meet Ronnell Warner, the new director of The Canby Center and find out how we can help. Also, most of us have memorized “the Lord’s Prayer, but when was the last time we stopped to think about the words? What was Jesus trying to teach us through it? What insights can gathered from this very familiar passage of Scripture? Together we will walk through the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:9- 13, and see if it changes our perspective on prayer. Sun, 2 December 2007 ![]() Sunday, December 2, 2007 Message By: Senior Pastor, Ken Harvey Two thousand years ago an itinerant Jewish teacher made an audacious claim that he would begin a worldwide movement whose growth would be unchecked throughout the span of history. One hundred and fourteen years ago Canby Christian Church became a part of that movement. Throughout the years this church has reached out to her community and lead many people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Today we are a new generation with the same saving message. Our desire is to create an environment that draws people to come and hear the good news. We want to spark a renewed interest in Christ in Canby. We will explore how we can all have a part in the most important movement in the world. Comments[0] |
