The story of the good Samaritan wonderfully illustrates Jesus' capacity for turning an abstract theological discussion into a discourse on real life issues. His encounter with this lawyer reveals how he does not allow distinctions to be made when it comes to the treatment of people. There are no easy escapes for failing  to serve and be a neighbor
